An Adélie penguin was seen leaving its colony and walking alone inland, toward the mountains (in the area of Mount Erebus).

For days, he moved in the opposite direction of the ocean, food, and its own kind.

Scientists found no signs of illness or obvious disorientation: he simply did not follow the group.

He never returned.

But why?
